Unique paint jobs
As time has gone on I've become less concerned with the guitar's looks but wanting more unique paint jobs all the same. Granted I live the see through tints that are usually found on maple capped guitars, but also have become very fond of more unique finishes. I have come to appreciate satin finishes over gloss and more natural finishes that look like a person at the factory got amused by some minwax instead of his normal job.
Why aren't they making more of these over standard red/black/blue gloss (with a few others that seem to be standard like the sunburst). Are they not selling and people just want the same paint job they've been making for decades or is it just what people want still? Is there a different finish you would want to see more of? |

Because they're usually unpopular and they cost a lot more to do.

I'm a fan of unique paint jobs. I have a Paisley Strat and love it.
