So I let my friend borrow one of my basses for almost a year's time because he wanted to use it in a band he was starting. I thought "sure why not" because I didn't ever use that bass anyways. Well, the friend that he lives with has cats. That pee on everything. So when I got my bass back (still haven't gotten the case) there was encrusted urine on the body of the bass. So instead of killing my friend, I'm just gonna clean it off. So far I took off all the strings and pickups, and sprayed/wiped down the whole thing with Lysol (lots of it). After the Lysol fully dries I'm gonna wipe it down with water/baby wipes and when that dries wipe it down one more time with a dry towel. So, I don't really know why I'm starting this thread. I guess I just want you guys to tell me that I didn't just totally ruin my bass forever by cleaning it and that this will get the cat urine looks and smell off of it.

Holy block of text, Batman. I don't know the chemical properties of cat piss, but I assume that if your bass has a finish then nothing bad will happen to it.

I hope you didn't use Lysol on the fretboard? Unless it's a maple one.

I pretty much had to do it everywhere. I'd guess that the fretboard is maple because it's the same color n' stuff but it's a cheaper instrument so I can't say for sure.
