Getting yourself out of a hole?
So I'm in a bit of a bind, Pit. I went and did a dumb thing and started going through old emails with the ex. Things didn't end so well between us and I'm reliving a lot of the really down feelings. It'll blow over, but it's not gonna feel so hot for a bit.
Any advice on kicking downer feelings besides the usual (hang with friends, try and distract myself, etc.?)

It depends on how deep the hole is and if the sides are slippery or not.

I do prescription drugs and drink, well I've stopped the drinking since I was starting to get sick if I didn't have vodka, but if I were feeling down it'd be hard to say no to it.
I wouldn't recommend either one if the depression is only temporary, and if it's not maybe doing the trial and error with a doctor and anti-depressants. Music helps me too, listening to sad songs about musicians who seem to be worse off emotionally than I (modest mouse, bright eyes, blue october.) For some music like that only makes it worse. But I just think damn, if they can get through that I can get through this, and it sorta feels like sympathy. Really you shouldn't waste energy thinking about her when it does no good even if it's hard, trying wouldn't hurt. Tbh I checked your profile for your age, just to be sure it wasn't angst, because emotions are a lot stronger/dramatic in teen years.
