Basswood Strat Pickup Advice
Hey guys and girls,
I own a Peavey EXP Raptor, which is horrible, but I'm getting my friend to completely redo it and make it a beast. He's scrapping everything except the body and neck. I'm in a bit of a pickle deciding what pickups I should get put in it. It's a basswood body, and it's going to be in a HH configuration. I'm looking for a really fat, tight, articulate sound for my metal playing. This means I want to be able to hear every string, and it has to be a 'wall' of sound, with a massive, tight, yet airy low end. Much like what John Petrucci gets. At the moment, I'm looking at DiMarzio Crunch Lab/LiquiFire Dimarzio D-Activator set Bareknuckle Crawler set What are your guys thoughts on this? If you have any suggestions for what would sound good, please help me out. Any advice will be much appreciated. Cheers guys, Liam |

If you are looking at BKPs. Then the aftermath would be a a better sound than the crawler.
But after a little googleing. Petrucci uses the crunch lab/liquifire set so I'd go with them.
