Long shot - has anyone ever put a Greenback in a Blackstar HT amp?
Shopping for speakers...

Can I ask why? Is this an HT5 or an HT40 or something?

HT-5, yeah.
Been looking around to replace the speaker. I generally think Greenbacks sound awesome, but have never heard it through my own amp. I don't know if I want to just grab a speaker now, or save up more for a cab (which I'll be needing eventually).

I wouldn't do it.
Hate to be this guy - but if you feel the need replace the speaker, you probably need a new amp to give you the sound you're looking for.

+1 Not to mention your amp isn't going to be pushing the Greenback into it's true tone. It's mean to be used in a situation where you won't have a lot of headroom with it so that you'll get speaker breakup, and the HT-5 isn't going to be able to do that without cranking it to 10, and even then, I'm not sure it can.

OP here.
All valid points, guys. Fact is, I actually do like the sound coming from my amp. Even the emulated output sounds great to me. But I'm a hard guy to satisfy - I like having different tones under my disposal. Toying around with speakers is just something I want to do, and I've always had a thing for Greenbacks. If I don't like it, I'll probably sell it and move on. It's also a trial to see which speakers I want in my future cab. Hope this doesn't sound like a guy desperately trying to turn shit into gold. Rather, I want different shades of gold. That's also a novel I've been working on.

Not at all. It's just that the HT amps are one trick ponies. Feel free to experiment with those speakers!
