I'm looking for a pedal I can use for both playing live/through my amp and also use as a recording input.

I play mainly rock and metal but it's important I have nice saturated but smooth distortion and crystal cleans.

Sounds like Machine Head, Tool, Deftones and Mastodon would be ideal.

I would also like the ability to turn on/off individual effects too, without having to change preset entirely.

Budget anywhere between £100-£250 possibly £300 at a very worthwhile push.

Edit: Also on the recording input side of things, I usually record DI and model my amp with Lecto and LeCab2, not inbuilt models.

I had RP350/355 and they were okay but they both only lasted me a year or so.
