Personally, my best writing tends to come when I watch or listen to something that inspires me. Do/watch/listen/read/whatever something inspirational. Then, channel that inspirational stuff into music.

Just start writing and odds are you'll subconsciously write how you're feeling at the time. Don't force anything. Some of my favorite lyrics have came that way but I don't realize it til later.
