Travelling to Japan
Any of the pit been to or live in japan.
I plan to travel to Niseko next january for a 2 or 3 week snowboard holiday. Basically I want to know what your experience was like travelling in japan and what I should expect. So basically any tips of what to do and not do and basic travel info. also I have researched it, I just want some first hand experiences and stories.

I've visited Japan three times when I was a child / young teen. It was mainly to visit my uncle/ aunt/ cousin living in Saitama
Saitama is a country area by Tokyo, but I never really got to go to the "flashy" part of Tokyo  But Saitama was a very pleasant place, plenty of fresh air and there's a real, humble sort of atmosphere. We weren't really there to go sight seeing or to go buy this or that, it was basically just living everyday life with part of the family. One day I'd like to see Tokyo! Anyways, I've stayed in my family's place there for like, 2-4 week periods. Once when I was 8, from that time I only distinctly remember playing warioland on my gameboy. The other time I don't remember much either, but the last time I went I was 14 and was already kind of tired and homesick because I stayed in Taiwan for a month right before haha. Expect to feel taller and bigger there (even if you're not very tall or big, the environment just seems eer, "scaled down"  ), to feel like everything is expensive, and to see some really crazy stuff on television (I think most people here know that).I actually would really like to visit Japan again... unfortunately I did not take many photos last time, it was a bit of an odd experience because my auntie was having a rough emotionally and psychologically, with gambling issues and stupid stuff. I still have this oversized hoodie though... It really reminds me of the artwork for btbam's "colors"  TLDR; Watch lost in translation

Most of the japanese are very racist toward you if you don't know some basic japanese.
As long as you dont butcher the shit out of it. that'll irritate them even more. First hand experience. Quote:
