What is The Mainstream Music Industry Missing?

I felt like the songwriting section was the best place for this topic. Let's all contribute in fronting ideas of what the mainstream music industry is missing. I'll start with a few biggies:

- Meaty guitar leads & exciting solos
- Riffs that turn our heads toward the electric guitar again
- Sweet vocals, other than Myles Kennedy

Let's hear them.

I hate to disappoint, but I'm fairly certain that you chose the wrong section. This would belong here probably.

Songwriting & Lyrics is specifically aimed at lyrical songwriting. It's for poetry, prose, lyrics, stories, etc. Musician Talk, Bandleading, these are forums designed for music discussion.

Also, regarding your point, the music industry is doing fine. If you can't find what you want these days with the Internet then you're not looking hard enough. I have bought so much music over the last three years that it will take me a full year to get through it all.
