Ron Grainer: Doctor Who, The Prisoner, Man In A Suitcase

Stu Phillips: Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider

Mike Post: The Rockford Files, Magnum, Hill Street Blues

Jerry Goldsmith: Star Trek: Voyager, The Waltons

There are dozens of great themes from that era and many other brilliant composers. You heard the theme, you wanted to watch the programme. I don't think today's themes are as memorable. It's a pity that a catchy, energetic theme would now be seen as corny.
