Yawning Man tones?
I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what Gary Arce of Yawning Man uses gear-wise and I've discovered that not only should I use more conditioner but also that there doesn't seem to be anything out there.
At least that I can find... This is a good example of what I mean. In this shot he's using an Orange stack but is there something I'm missing? I'm looking to get that sort of surfed out echo tone. Any help is greatly appreciated! |

I've seen him use fenders and Oranges in various live videos, and oranges and fenders are very different tone-wise. I have no idea what amp he uses in studio though, but I do know he uses an old Boss reverb of some sort.
I think what you basically need is a strat, a nice clean amp, OD pedal and a shit ton of reverb. that should get you in the ball park
