Good actors who choose bad films/tv shows
See title.
For me, one that springs to mind is Giancarlo Esposito. He plays Gus from Breaking Bad, who is one of my favourite villains of recent years, and he is extremely good at seeming friendly, professional, and calm, whilst at the same time, being utterly terrifying when he is on screen, and so it shows that he is a skilled actor, but everything else i have seen him in has been terrible, and some of the things i have heard about that he is in have received terrible reviews.

De Niro and Al Pacino are money grabbing bastards. The former a bit of a boring fart these days, and the latter an egoistic tool.
They've starred in enough good film to redeem themselves for life though.
