We really aren't that special though. The only thing that separates us from animals is genetics.
I know that sounds like a really big leap, but it isn't. Life was formed and we all came from that same life. Maybe we're lucky? But I'd never say special.

We're special in the sense that we're the only animal who can take a step back and think about our position in the world and the nature of our existence and that sort of abstract useless stuff.
But at the end of the day, I don't think it's that big a deal. We're subject to the same forces as the other animals, we have the same basic goal of propagating our species. We're not as noble as we think basically.
