Facing an irritating wall
the picking pattern in the intro of technical difficulties is really irritating me, i know the picking pattern well, but everytime i attempt to play it, it just sounds god awfully messy, ive been at the riff for the best part of 2 months now and its starting to become a problem. i really need to be able to do this picking pattern cleanly. has anyone else came across this problem? how did you get past it?

Practice it more slowly.
If you can't do it at a certain speed that's nearly always the answer, if it isn't then you're doing something wrong in technique terms.
