I want to start looking for a head here shorty and dont really know what to look at. Currently im using a Bugera 333xl Infinium and while this head has been great id like to start looking for a "proper" amp and keep this for a backup, I know these get no love around here lol.

I want 3 channels prefferably and decent cleans, Im leaning towards a dual rec but is there anything else i should look at? Im thinking the 6505 is pretty much a 1 trick pony or isnt it? Want to keep it around a $1000 new or used. i dont need anyone to search the internet for me just recomend some amps to look for. Heres a list of the songs my band is currently playing, but keep in mind it would be nice if the amp would pull off other genre as well...less hard stuff. I play lead guitar if that makes any difference. My cab is a orange 2x12 closed back.

If you think the bugera does the job but want something more reliable and gigworthy then go for a peavey jsx. The 6505 isn't a 1 trick pony in my opinion but it's distortion is far superior to it's cleans. For the amount of different sounds you intend to capture you'll need something versatile, which the JSX is.

Wow thanks guys thats alot of amps to check out. I did play the 5150 III where i get my guitars setup and wasnt overly impressed with it although i didnt send much time trying to dial it in, i might have to go back and try it again

whats the diff between the dsl and tsl marshalls?

DSL has 2 chs with 2 modes per ch. TSL has 3 chs and is geared more twards Nu-Metal. They made the TSL to compete with amps like the Dual rectifier and it didn't do that well selling.
