Anybody ever just up and moved to a new city alone? Might be doing so soon and a bit freaked out on having to start all over. So, please share your experiences!

Moved to NC alone. Luckily it was a city and i got to know some people in my complex.

Moved to California alone. A friend moved there later, but i met a girl their first day and spent a lot of time with her. I would barhop alone. Its weird unless you get sucked into a group.

Just gotta be open, friendly and accepting.

Im moving to a new city with my partner at the end of this years summer. its oging to be weird as we will both need to meet new people, but at least we have each other.

the thing that concerns me the most is that i have a good routine where i live in terms of social life. i play football (soccer) twice a week that i organise, but when i move i wont know anyone to be able to organise this, so i plan on joining the local gym and then trying to worm my way in to individual sport leagues like tennis/squash/badminton and meet people that way hopefully. plus meeting people in work will help.

I dont know yet, but im just going to have an open attitude and use sport and fitness as my main way to worm my way in to friend groups. It shouldn;t be too hard, just think, when you start a new job, within a couple of weeks you pretty much settle in to a group of friends naturally, so it should just happen, just avoid isolating yourself.

Moved to Paris from Manchester alone, without even having a guarantee of somewhere to live or the ability to speak French.
It was cool and still is the best place I've ever lived, but admittedly I was a bit nervous when I first arrived. Worked out fine though and I'll be sad to leave in July

I've thought about it before, never gone through with it. A lot of people start considering it after being stuck in a rut or going through an emotional experience like a breakup or something, but of the people i know, they get over it.
