I believe Gibson did it first with the Epiphone Elitist.
That looks pretty awesome. Made in Japan, name-brands parts and pickups. Looks like these might actually be competing with the Ibanez Prestige line, as well as the Premiums. I'm pretty glad they decided to do this. |

I'm curious. What's the price point like? I would imagine these guitars won't be cheaper than a 1000 series LTD.
I mean if I can get a used ESP for a grand or so, what's the point? Cool guitars though.

Holy **** this is awesome. I imagine the prices will be at least at LTD 1000 levels, so just under a thousand for a new guitar seems likely.
What I'm hoping is that they'll make a lot of them and they'll sell really well, so that in a couple years I can buy a used one for $450. ![]() Yeah, high-end LTDs are overpriced if bought new, but the used market for them is awesome. |

I think their goal is compete with the new market. But I imagine that the used market for these will be pretty sweet once it gets rolling. |

Wow, I thought they were going to lease them out and then sell them once they became used! Thanks for clearing that up! ![]() |

Haven't really looked into recent ESP pricing, but are they going to do what Ibanez has done? Priced their Elite range close to what the real ESPs cost and then just raise those as well? Ibanez Premiums are going for not much less than what new Prestiges sold for a couple years ago.

All aboard the Horizon III boat. ![]() Price wise, I'm betting they'll be $1000-1200. Yeah, you can get some of hte more common ESPs used for $1000, but at the same time in a year or so you'll be able to get these for $700 or so. It's all to scale in the end.

I'll be excited once we know what the construction is like. They may be 'MIJ', but that's not enough reason to believe they stack up to an ESP Standard or Original line. Edwards are 'MIJ', and nice guitars, but it doesn't take a genius to work out they're not quite as nice as an ESP Standard. These could simply be LTD Deluxe quality without the bling. Not bad guitars by any means, I'm sure, but let's not get too excited so soon.

I hate to say it but this is somewhat how I feel. I'll be interested to see a higher quality EC shape with 24 frets though. I'll dfinitely try one to see if it's much better than the Deluxe version. |

The real question is how the LTD Elites stack up to the LTD Deluxe. If it's worse or about the same quality/kinds of options, then who even cares about it? Just buy a Deluxe. However, if it's just barely below the ESP quality standards, or if it's cheaper than a Deluxe, then I would be very excited.
Dammit, I just read the part about using bolt-on necks for the superstrats. Does it say anywhere if they use an AANJ? I hope so. Square bolts for the prices they'll be charging would be ridiculous. Well, for people like me who hate that square bolt, anyway. ![]() |

Obviously they won't be ESP quality... they're not ESPs. I don't think anyone is expecting that.
They're probably going to be made the same way as and alongside Edwards. I would guess anyway. Actually I think I was looking at the new V 7 string, and it actually had a fairly ergonomic neck heel. Definitely not the block POS they use on their cheaper guitars. I think it was the V-307 I was looking at anyway.
