From what I heard, Japan was very friendly to foreigners. That is ******ed though that there is no emergency services on weekends and evenings. Is that all of Japan which does that?

Having just come back from China, I wouldn't mind living there. More specifically, Hong Kong. Now China is actually getting very advanced technologically and in infrastructure, but HK just takes the cake. The entire skyscraper laden city is a goddamn lightshow every night, synced up to music. There is citywide wifi no matter where you are. It's generally clean and lively as shit. Like NYC on steroids.

Pros:
-awesome city raving every night
-awesome cheap food
-never run out of things to do
-nice people, pretty chill
-the part of China that doesn't have shitty censored internets

Cons:
-extremely high cost of housing
-Cantonese (worst language ever) and British English (2nd worst language ever)

Hong Kong looks ****ing incredible but I can't say I want to live there. Partially because there are other places I'd already want to live, but mostly because I'm a Westerner and would never fit in (not even partially) and I'm not educated enough on the place. I would love to visit though. I have a thing for cities with giant cities and bright lights.

Uh...

Hong Kong is like the most westernized part of China. There are lots of foreigners there. Have you forgotten it was occupied by the British? It is also tri-lingual. Most people know mandarin, cantonese, and english. I could get by just fine speaking only English (although my mandarin doesn't hurt).

Probably either the south of Spain or the Amalfi coast in Italy. I've been to Italy and I really enjoyed that area. The food, the people, and the weather are all great. I would probably like Spain for similar reasons although I've never been. I'm a fan of the sea as well. Also, I speak a bit of Spanish so that might help.

I'm aware of all of that (British English is great by the way) but I'm sure the little aspects of daily life are things I couldn't just adapt to. That ties in with being uneducated, so I may be wrong entirely.

I think I would love to try living in Hong Kong. It has been a dream of mine for a while. Or at least going there on holiday - but like a rich persons holiday, with penthouses and helicopters and speedboats and shit, not a poor persons holiday, the type I can't even afford.
I like a bustling, vibrant city and a bright skyline at night. Looks like a dream.

Seeing those pictures of its recent flooding and tourists in the streets made me want to go even more. I also like the narrow streets and architecture. Doesn't seem safe when I put it that way, but it's got that personality. And German is an awesome language. It's even better when it comes from a woman (like any other language).
