I still believe that Slash is a kick ass guitarist, especially recently, his playing (at least live) has been phenomenal, a lot more technical and less sloppy than I remember it.
I prefer the second 2 of the Slipknot albums (Vol.3 and AHIG) as opposed to the apparently godlike first 2 (self-titled and Iowa) A good riff or a groove triumphs over technicality and wankery any day but the fusion of both can be really awesome. Shredding is not soulless and emotionless because it fulfils an emotion/emotions for the player, i'm sure Steve Vai, Yngwie, Buckethead, Michael Angelo, all those kinds of instrumental virtuoso players genuinely love what they're doing. Djent IS a genre of music whether you like it or not (it's also a playing style, a style of guitar tone and onomatopoeia) |

I like Ke$ha, her music is catchy and fun to listen to. Progressive/Technical metal bands are really boring. Limp Bizkit is fun to listen to and Wes Borland is a great guitarist.
