Blackstar HT-5R, zoom & other gear
Hey there folks. So I ended up getting blackstar HT-5R tubecombo. I also have zoom g2nu... not sure how best to hook it up, right now I hooked it into effect loop and use it as noise gate, equilaizer, chorus, reverb, delay. My understanding is that if I want to use it as a booster, compressor or overdrive, I'd need to hook it up before pre-amp old fashion way (guitar>zoom>HT-5R), but I rather use the amp not just as a "make it loud"... um... thing. Can't hook it up into the effect loop and guitar input at the same time in other words.
So I was thinking of getting a few pedals maybe. What I'd like to ask now, is what gear (pedals etc.) you think would be good to get. Booster, dist., compressor pedals? What kind? Or some processor-like-thingy? And how should I hook it all up. What I want is to be able to swith clean and dist. with ease (with current set up, I need to switch amps channels and zooms, that's two buttons to push :/), and maybe between lead and rhytm (if possible)... I play all kind of stuff, but mainly metal. |

It only has one output so no, you have to pick one or the other.
I'd suggest leaving the zoom n the loop and buying separate overdrive and/or distortion pedals to run out front.

Yeah, but which would you suggest? I'm a what they call a "noob", when it comes to pedals. i know my guitars, but had very little experience with pedals... I heard boss makes some good pedals... ?

That would depend on what music you play and how much you have to spend.

Well... like I mentioned, metal. To be more specific, Thrash mostly with a touch of all kind of genres really. Also hard rock / heavy (iron maiden etc.) from time to time. I also like soloing I guess...
As to how much I have to spend... well... up to 400e if need be. |

Maybe a TS9 before preamp to boost the OD channel, and a better wah than zoom's if you like.
