Can't get past this wall!!
I have really felt a big improvement in my playing lately and I have been playing at least 2 hours everyday (I know that's not much but it is to fit into my schedule). Everything seems to be coming together except for my alternate picking, but only on certain stuff.
I have been trying to learn This Is Absolution by Killswitch. The riff is fun to play and my left hand is working fine, but I can't get it to sound right. I think it's because the 6th string in drop C is a little noodly and hard to accurately pick every note. I have not even slinkys on there and it is still taking some getting used to. I think this post might be more of a rant than anything else but I thought it might help to hear your thoughts. Anyone have any advice? |

If you feel like the string is a little floppy then use the next gauge up.

I might have to. I thought the strings I put on there would feel fine, but I could just change the one string. |
