What amp do you have? That'll affect the tone and sound more than the guitar.

You'll want humbuckers for metal, the Tele will do rock nicely, but you'll want to upgrade the pickups to tele humbckers for anything needing high gain.

Also, I'm a Tele Fanboy, my choice would be the Telecaster with upgraded pickups.

Or even a Blacktop Tele if you can.

Whats your budget?

Closest City?

New or Used?

Home or Gig?

Put more money into the amp than the guitar.

I'd look at one of the Vyper series amps from Peavey.

Never tired one personally, but they're held in high regard here.

I'd go for the SG because I like the sound from the humbuckers.
But the Studio has coil tap capabilities if I'm not mistaken, go for it if you want versatility

Try them all out yourself if you can.

The amp matters more than the guitar in terms f tone. You can have a Gibson SG BKP Nailbombs in it and play through a shitty amp and your tone is going to suffer. Just because the amp sucks. Look for an amp before a guitar dude.

We're not kidding about "amp first": I have a great amp- a 40w Fender HRD 1x12 combo tube amp- but while it can handle most of what I play, it simply doesn't do metal very well. And I have 7 different electric guitars (a SSS, 5 HH guitars- some with coil splitting- and a HHH) with which I have tried to play metal through that amp. I have to use all my (several) distortion/overdrive pedals to get metal to sound decent.

Which is why I'm planning on buying a second amp in 2013. Something like an Orange, perhaps.

So if you really want to play metal that sounds like metal, you need to tell us what kinds of budget you have for your amp so we can help you find what kind of amp you need...followed by guitars.

Try some ESP guitars if you're so into metal and hard rock. Maybe a Jackson. But that list is difficult to choose one, I have no idea which one from your list I would choose. I already have an SG and 2 Les Pauls so I would take the Tele. But I don't know what guitars you have so that part is up to you. But I would go play them all to see how they all feel and sound.

Also if you're looking for an amp for hard rock and metal then I agree with halfj06, go for a 6505+, or maybe a Blackstar or a Randall. Again, its up to you and you should play them to see how they sound. Rather test guitar and amps at the same time so you know how they work with each other.

Thank god we can all agree on the amp situation.

Seriously dude, amp will make up most of your tone. Look at an amp before a guitar, then pick a guitar, and try said guitar on the amp you want.

From what you mentioned I think you'd be happiest with the Les Paul (the Studio, not the double cutaway). You might also like the SG, but the Les Paul will have a slightly warmer/darker tone, which will give you more of that thud. The other guitars are great instruments but I think the Les Paul will fit your needs better without needing any modifications.

And like everyone else said, make sure you have enough funds left for a decent amp.

out of those, for what you want, i'd say the SG. but they really are all completely different guitars (and there may be something better for what you want than an sg) so it's best if you can get to a guitar shop to try some stuff and that'll let you know for yourself how all those guitars are different.

For the sounds you described, I would say the SG or the LP. I think the SG would achieve the sound you're looking for better, but the Tribue LP's definitely play much better than the SG studios.
