I am Norwegian and understand most of the dialects here, but that might be because my own language also has quite a few "interesting" dialects.

But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if you Americans even struggled with your own language...

Just watch interviews after an NFL or NBA game and you'll see that America isn't all that better.

That's fine, no one outside Scotland can understand the Scottish when they get talking...

I feel like this is very apt. Excuse the shitty player, NBC took it down everywhere else, and their player sucks.

What words do you not understand?

Also just watched the trailer, film doesn't look too bad.

I actually just finished it an hour ago, it is pretty good, I'd recommend it. Like I said though, there are some scenes where you are just like "wtf did they just say". That is, if you're North American.

I should also note, it has one of the best fight scenes I've seen in a long ass time. It's not an action movie, and it is pretty much the only fight scene in the whole movie, but it's ****ing good. The reason is because it doesn't seem "Hollywood", it feels like a real fight. Kind of like the one in "They Live" when he tries to get the other guy to put on the glasses.

We do have a massive array of dialects relative to the size of the island...

I have to put up with this all day - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norfolk_dialect where I live.

“Whoa there, Wi’let, whoa, Gypsy, s’dockey time, here’s yar nosebags tergethar. Now then you fules, wait till I git yar bits out. Come on, Bob, let’s knock a blairze on an’ we’ll het. Thass suffun cold terdear, blowe’d if i’ tearnt. Le’s see what th’ old woaman ’a put up forrus in the dinner bag. Cor blast, bread an’ pullet an’ no thumbit. Thass a rummun thar-iss nowt on an’ nowt tut. I’ll hev suffun, gimme thar ole rat, he’ll do. Whass a marrer meart, carnt yer eat yars? Doant trow it awear bor, I can eart it, fat an’ all. Give us hold onnut if it’s gorn a meark yer sick. You young’uns er too finnicky nowadears.”

Bergen, really? They got like the most understandable Western dialect there is. If you want a challenge, go to Kristiansund or some hicktown close to Hamar. Must admit that the Halsnøy dialect was a pain in the arse to understand...
