Worst Guitar(s) you've ever owned or have
this is for fun and for learning purpose's as well, i believe people have posted threads like this in the past but most of them are closed, so i'm making a new one about this topic, and also b/c i wanna rant about my shitty guitar experience
i have to say the worst guitar i've ever owned was a Westone Electra, my one time friend convinced me to buy it as a joke, it was cheap enough, so i bought it to get a kick out of it, looked ridiculous and sounded like a piece of dog S**T, i tried to replace the pickups with duncans(a distortion in the bridge) it was no use, it should have been fire wood |

A Fender Standard Tele circa 2003 was the worst guitar that I have ever owned. The thing was cursed with a neck that was stable as Jello in the summer sun and a three saddle bridge that would not intonate.
EDIT:The guitar was heavily modded when I bought a few years back now it's collecting dust in my closet.

A Maestro(By Gibson) acoustic. Of course I was only using it for about 5 months before my dad helped me buy a MIM Stratocaster which was incredible in how much easier it was to play.
For electrics, it's probably this cheapo Jackson Dinky that I bought for around $110 that actually sounded pretty good from what I remember but it wouldn't stay in tune no matter what I did. |

My starter Washburn.
Although I want to use this thread to make special mention of how horrible of a guitar the Synyster Gates Custom was at the store I used to work at. Such an over-rated piece of trash.

Just want to give a note that if a lot of a certain kind of thread are closed there's probably a reason.
That said, the worst guitar I have ever played was my sister's acoustic guitar. She bought it at some point to play campfire songs at what is essentially the Dutch version of the girl scouts, but she quit after a week and gave it to me. Judging by its tendency to go out of tune and how horrifyingly bad the neck is (I got cuts from playing it, for one), I can't say I blame her for quitting.

Dean Vendetta XM. Good god. Epiphone G400. I'm not sure which one was worse. They both fell apart, but the Epi cost over twice as much.

Stagg Flying V copy. Microphonic pickups, twisted neck, frets coming out of the fingerboard and generally felt like a toy.

My first guitar which was a Westfield Les Paul. It plays and sounds horrible, it doesn't even hold a candle to my Fender Mustang

I had an acoustic Washburn that had a blue quilted top we got for free when my brother bought his sax at sam ash. It was horrible. The bridge ended up coming unglued a few month after we got it.
Electric wise, I have had two. My Special II is probably my least favorite playing wise. Something about the neck was so uncomfortable. It made my hand first. Sound wise was my Mexi Strat. I loved the feel. But it sounded horrible. Ok not horrible, but I could never get a great sound out of it. It hummed too much. The neck was way too bassy and the bridge was like an ice pick. And its sad because I love "The" strat sound. I just could never find one. |

For my it has to be the ESP Lynch sig model. I generally really like ESP, but there was something off with that guitar, it felt like a toy and the sound was that of really cheap guitar.

They did Standards with a 3 saddle bridge in 2003? Or was the bridge modified?

According to a post on Schecter's Facey B the ones you buy in the shops are the same ones he plays. Not sure if I believe it though. My worst guitar was probably my first one (Rest in Peace) because it had a crappy wrap around bridge and I didn't know how to adjust it. I never got to play it with a low action so I don't know what the fretwork was like. Last edited by MegadethFan18 : 12-14-2012 at 06:23 AM. |

Gibson SG custom. You would think a 4 thousand dollar guitar would play and sound like a dream. This thing played like crap, sounded worse and the neck was coming away from the joint.

No, the guy who I bought from had heavily modified the instrument to "sound" and "feel" like a '51 Telecaster. ![]() Though I'm thinking of restomodding the poor thing back to a playable state but I'm a bit too busy with other builds at the moment and I'd be way too spendy on parts. Especially when comes to the neck and pups.
