Earthquaker devices rainbow machine while playing with high gain?

I'm a metal player and for some unexplained reason I'm currious about adding a EQD rainbow machine to my board, does anybody here have any experince using this pedal while using a metal distortion tone (death, metalica, slayer, amon amarth, cannibal corpse ect.). I am curious to see if anybody here has tried this and what they thought of this when they tried it. Im planning on using this for solo's, inturlides, intro's and outros. So any thoughts or videos are appreciated.

Knowing how cluttered this sounds when on high magic settings etc etc I think that if you feed it with distorted signal it will get messy. A low-mid gain overdrive might sound ok. But full driven high gain distortion? I doubt it.

I owned one for all of 4 months (It was harsh sounding - and DID NOT HANDLE OTHER PEDALS WELL).

It really took up too much room in the sound-scape for other stuff (though this is all up to personal preference).

I did run it with my OD (Wampler Ecstasy) before the EQD RM - and it was alright sounding at best. The "magic" effect sounding kind of neat when overdriven - However the initial repeats sounded kind of crumby with the OD, as it really colours the sound to be kind of nasty sounding.

Keep in mind that the EQD RM is not for harmonization, or normal pitch-shifting applications. Using it in a solo will sound off-putting, and not necessarily musical, when you're trying to play melodies.

Shame you don't have it anymore because then I could hear it for myself via video, I found out I live near pyremaxe village so I might be able to try it for myself. If I don't like it I could get a pharoah and a used voodoo lab tremelo pedal for about the same price. Its probably not a coincidence there aren't any videos of this being used with distortion or other effects.
