Pot alt-indie-pop-bullshit home recorded demo 8=D

here's a demo i've been working on. its still a ways to go but hey, crit me hard. thanks.

https://soundcloud.com/jake-skubisz/lyingandthinking4 (updated)

(ps, thats a smilie face in the title, you dirty dirty minds.)

edit: listening on my speakers sounds so different, i hate that. i think the vocals need to be remixed a lot, maybe redone. there's something off about them. maybe cause i can't sing to save my life. whatever hey hey hey smoke weed every day.

EDIT: Updated link, newer version

I was expecting a load of indie crap but this is nice. The guitars sound really nice and balanced.

Your vocals are mixed way too quiet though. Bring em in towards the center and add a little bit more ambience and it'll sound great.

Really nice song tho. I like it. I would also like some reverb on the vocals. Cheers.

thank you guys so much, i'm actually shocked anyone responded... i took all the crits to mind, first post is updated with new link.

i put the vocals a little more center aligned, good point about making them come out a little more. i threw some reverb on them as well, just a touch. i think it sounds a little better. more comments welcome as always, still want to put extra touches on it, possibly drums depending on how they come out.

Yeah, sounds really nice in a raw, lo-fi kinda way. Nice work.

Listening to it now.

I like the guitar tone, the part at :30 has a nice feel to it, it's catchy and well written. Your vocals sound good as well, all the layers really give it a nice depth. The song is really well written, and the lyrics are nice as well. The bridge is good, I like that a lot. My only complaint is you could probably make it a little longer, but otherwise it sounds awesome! Keep it up man!

Your vocals are really nice. The guitars from about 0:30 on sound really nice and atmospheric. It's a bit too poppy for me personally (lol I'm such a hipster) but apart from that I really like it!
