I enjoy Ice-T, N.W.A, Cypress Hill and some other old school artists.
A tribe called quest and Jungle Brothers are pretty cool with their hip-hop with jazz influences. Then I enjoy some more modern artists as well, but then it is mostly "hardcore" hip-hop i.e. basically hip-hop with death metal lyrics. Necro is one guy. So over the top. Then I enjoy Joe Lajoie's (?) hip-hop songs as well; even though they are parodies the beats are pretty tight and the lyrics are hilarious.

Yeah, bands and artists. Just stop promoting this sell out crap. It's all about the underground.
