Re stringing nightmare

Just changed the strings on my strat and thought I'd done it all good then realised I'd put the strings through the pegs the wrong way, I put them in right to left instead of left to right. So after the nut, all the strings go to the left a little instead of straight forward to each peg.

Could this a problem or am I ok to leave it until I change them next?

If you don't take them off immediately your guitar will snap in half.

I did not realize there was a specific order you had to change the strings in.

Do you mean that you turned the pegs the wrong way to tune up? If that's what happened, it just won't stay in tune as well 'till next time you change them.

Of course you have to rotate the tuners in the opposite direction to increase or decrease the pitch now.
But nothing bad will happen as long as you do this with your left foot on derek8520's left one and with your right foot on SwoobGuitars right one.

I've done it before(still do when I'm restringing and pissed off) no big deal, just makes tuning take a miniscule amount more of thought.

I think I can work out what you're trying to explain. As long as it holds tune ok, it shouldn't be a problem. Just means that when you tune it you'll be turning the tune pegs the other way.

Just get another set of strings and restring it correctly. Consider the first set, the cost of your first stringing lesson.

So as an example: You put the E through the right saddle and then put it through the D peg? And the D in the B, the B in the A, the high E in the Low E, the G in the High E?

Is it like a Cats Cradle?

You're so ****ed.

I think you misunderstood, unless you're trying to be as funny as my first post.
He's strung it so that when tuning the guitar he has to turn the pegs the opposite direction to they way they should be turned.

Sounds like he just has to turn the pegs in the opposite direction he usually would need to is all.

I did it all the time when I started out.

I think it's beyond me, but thanks for trying!

I usually manage to do this with 3+3 headstocks. It won't hurt anything, but remind people if they're retuning your guitar (and you have, for some unknown reason, allowed them to live).

You want the string to go into the tuning peg hole from the right with the string exiting on the left side toward the turn knob. Not sure what you mean from "left to right"...that would be backwards. How would they go to the left if you put them in on the right side?

The sharp/flat direction of the tuner is in relation to which way you decided to tighten to peg in the first place.

Remove the strings and reinstall them if it bothers you. I have removed strings from a guitar and put them back on with no issues. I recently did this when adding a push pull pot onto my Strat.

If it bothers you, just loosen them, pop them off, and put them back on the right way. If it doesn't, use them as is until your next change of strings.
