Instantly Become a guitar god or work your way up?

Let's say you were given the choice of becoming a guitar and god and play anything you want. Your musical knowledge would be limited though.

Or would you refuse the offer and continue working hard to get good at guitar? Like everyone else.

I think there is some satisfying about having to work hard for something. Otherwise it almost becomes meaningless.

you cant be a guitar god and have poor knowledge of the guitar. the two go hand in hand for the most part.

...apart from hendrix. that guy was a freak.

philosophical question man..

and work my way up and earn it, no other way

EDIT: we're all sayin work for it, but honestly if some guy walks up to you tomorrow and says he can make you the greatest guitar player in the world, but you'll lose all theory, how many of you would really say no

yeah, that is a great quote, JRF

guitar is like life, you get out of it what you put into it. you go guitar god, i go work for it. you might be better than me for a few years but if i don't get complacent, once i surpass you i'll be better than you until our deaths.

unless of course you work on your musical knowledge, but you're going to spend most of your time getting so frustrated with concepts you'd be able to execute with ease but have difficulty comprehending.

there are many more reasons to put the work into it, but i think that speaks for itself if you understand what i'm talking about.

I would definitely become a guitar god. To me, that would be infinitely more satisfying than having to work up to a level that I may never get to.

You have clearly never worked for anything in your life.

Them feels when you earn something after hard work > Them feels when you're given something without any work put in

Hard work, way more gratifying. I'd become bored with music if I didn't have to work to become better at it.

Appears the ones that prefer the "guitar god" route are only doing so for the fame and attention they would receive as a results which can only mean one thing: they'll never ever be good enough to achieve such success. There are not shortcuts.

A mixture. I would like to get instantly good enough to stand my own playing, and then work from there.
