Need Help Identifying a Michael Kelly guitar
Hey all, having trouble attaching a photo. Just trying to determine what model Michael Kelly I'm looking at. The photo attached is similar. sunburst pattern is about the same. The exception is the inlay all along the fret board. It is a vine like pattern with some flowers and a dragonfly. In all my searching through google images, I don't find it on their electric guitars. I do see it on some of their acoustic models. Any help would be appreciated. Also your feedback on Michael Kelly electrics would be helpful. It is a used guitar (in excellent condition) and will be my first guitar. I love the way it looks, although it dawned on my later that the pattern may be geared more to the female guitar enthusiast. Thanks all

There ain't nothin' feminine about the vine of life inlay!
OT: looks like a MK Patriot, but there are lots of Patriot models. I thought most had only 2 pots though, so I can't give you any more details really.

Thanks prog, I liked the inlay enough that it wouldn't have stopped me. Strange that I can't find one like it online. New to guitars...what is a "pot"?

It stands for potentiometer I believe, which would be the knobs.
EDIT: and everyone does their vine of life differently. Steve Vai's sig has a pretty decent one, but it's more minimalist.

Sorry, meant that its strange I can't find a MK electric online that even has a vine of life inlay.
Only on their acoustics. Is it possible someone put an acoustic neck on this guitar after market? Once again... I'm a noob to anything guitar related. |

Patriot Glory?
N oit wouldn't be an aftermarket acoustic neck, that would involve sawing a neck off an acoustic and gluing it to an electric which just wouldnt work, it would more likely be an aftermarket fingerboard. But it's probably just a discontinued model.

I emailed the company, turns out that this is a patriot Q sample that was made but not put into production. Made around 2006. Any thoughts on this?

Every MK guitar I've played has been excellent quality for the price, which is why I own one.
What is the asking price on this one?

$279, I'm really liking it. I'm just getting into this, so have no idea what "good" even is. I have a friend who knows guitars really well though and he's going to come check it out with me.

If it's in perfect working order, definitely snap it up.

MKs are SOLID guitars and great players. As long as they do not have any major issues, its well worth the money.
