This may be a stupid question.

Well for my birthday I got an Epiphone Thunderbird. My dad didnt realise I couldnt run it through my guitar amp so i dont have an amp yet. Its gonna be at least a week until I
can get to my local guitar shop.

Ok, so basically my question is can I tune a bass through my guitar amp if i turn all the volumes down?

Yes you can.

By the way, no such thing as a stupid question. If you don't know something, ask. Someone will know the answer.

One thing to add- don't turn the bass volume down! You wouldn't get any signal through to the tuner if you do

I believe Megadeth recorded an early album with Ellefson plugged into a Peavey 5150....

You can play through it, just don' t turn it up loud.

I mean, as long as you' re waiting for a week, I don't see how much harm it could do if you don' t turn it up too much. Just food for thought since I know it sucks to get a cool present and not really be able to do much with it. You can also use headphones through the guitar amp if it has a headphones out and turn it up as loud as you want.
