NUGD: Taylor 710 CE
Just got a used Taylor 710 CE for $1500. I just noticed that the headstock is finger jointed in the back... I have a sinking feeling that it is not supposed to be that way.
Lay it on me.

I don't own a Taylor, so I did a little online research. According to some people claiming to own Taylors or know a bit about Lutherie, finger joints on Taylor headstocks re not uncommon. Some said it was even desirable, since it made for a very strong join between neck and headstock.

i've seen them before like that. my K10ce doesn't have a finger joint but i noticed it on a few when i was Taylor shopping. if memory serves me the 710 and 714 both had them when i tried them out.
