The Fiscal Cliff

http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/...-years-eve?lite

Well for those Americans out there in the pit, the time is running out for the politicians to reach a deal before we go over the fiscal cliff.

Any think washington can reach a deal?
What do you see happeneing if we go over?
Are we screwed?

I think Washington is incapable of reaching any kind of decision anymore. Let alone with haste.

I don't know what's going to happen next.

It's just another scare tactic. Remember that whole fiasco about the 'debt ceiling' a couple months back?

Probably. But they reached a deal weeks before it went into affect.

I do agree with the eGraham though that Washington is incapable of doing shit.

Well thousands of Americans are going to lose their unemployment benefits. Hopefully this means I can riot the **** out of places

You know, I was actually kind of hoping that Romney would get elected so we could finally form a legitimate uprising against the government...

This. Nothing will change so significantly that people will actually get up and do anything because that would threaten the people who are in power and the people in power are making far too much money to let something like that happen.

You can't generalize like that. If that was the case, the extensions wouldn't even exist. So many hard-working people have lost their jobs since the fall in 2008, even those who are financially well-off, and it's only becoming harder to be re-employed. People on extension could very easily (and now more than ever, be more likely to) need it dearly.

Not really quite sure. All I know if that taxes will skyrocket, unemployment benefits will be canceled and some other stuff. Basically make the economy worse as the media puts it

If you go out everyday to look for work and you can't find a job in 22 weeks then there is something seriously wrong with you.
