Which Boost?

So as I'm building my pedalboard I'm finding all sorts of cool little things that I'm wanting. So now that I have a wah, a phaser, my pedal tuner and my OD I'm in the market for a boost. I've narrowed it down to a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster and an Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB-1. I played an LPB-1 today and kind of love it because it's transparent and gets the job done quite well. And for ~$40 it's pretty fantastic. However, there's a Pickup Booster at my local shop and I've discovered a few things about it. For one, my personal guitar hero uses one. Two, they don't make them anymore. At least not that I've seen. Three, they're kind of expensive. I have no idea how much the one at my local shop is but I've every intention on finding out and actually playing it before dropping cash on it.

Really my question is can I go wrong with picking one over the other or is there a clear winner? I'm trying not to be swayed to buy the Pickup Booster simply because my hero uses it and that I'd be one of the few in town to have one.

I've seen the pickup booster go for $50ish IIRC.

Just as a gain boost for solos.

And I'm running a Samick AV7 through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410. I play in a ska-punk band and it's normal gain I wasn't diggin' so I run a Fulltone OCD as my main distortion. My pedal loadout looks like this so far(I have a few more pedals inbound)

Guitar>Crybaby 535Q>Fulltone OCD>MXR Phase 90>Fender HRD.

I've heard it was a little noisy but I'll look into it!

+1

a MXR 10 band has gain and volume, so you can get it louder, while using the EQ function to tweak yourself a little bit.
