that is like keeping your first car forever just because your parents may have bought it for you. everyone sells vehicles to help pay for newer or better ones at some point. to keep it and never use it is wasteful.
this perfectly valid point is not, however, a reason to ever disrespect your mother. just thought it might be useful.

What you should really do is this:
as you have a small budget and new a guitar AND amp you should save a little more and get either a Peavey Vypyr Tube60 or a Peavey Vypyr 30 and that Schecter. I think the 30 and the Schecter would be the best route as it's relatively in budget and will sound great. |

It's all you man. It's cool if you don't want to offend your sister or anything. I've been there before with family gifts.
![]() 6505 112 combo sounds like your best bet. You can wait for another guitar, your amp will make mountains of difference.

A better guitar will still sound like sh*t through your Frontman. Your priorities should be: 1. Amp 2. Amp 3. Amp Playing a Squier Strat through a Mesa MKIV will sound pretty good. Play a Fender 1962 Stratocaster Slab Board in Sunburst (at $43,900) through a Frontman, and your tone will be pretty crappy.

Well if you're that eager to buy right now I guess the Vypyr, unless you wanted to have a stab at this which is really better as a rock amp rather than metal..
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Marshall-JCM...1#ht_500wt_1414 But honestly I think you should wait till you have enough for that 6505 combo because you will be pretty amazed at the difference between a modelling amp, and a tube beast (which is specifically catered for your sort of tone).

You said you were 14? Anyway it's you decision buddy. The Vypyr is a fine choice, just that the 6505+ is better. ![]()
