Mono is a good one you don't have mentioned.
Edit: They are actually a post rock band by the way. ![]() Last edited by slipknot5678 : 01-16-2013 at 08:09 PM. |

Mogwai, Mono, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Russian Circles, and Hammock are all my favourite instrumental post-rock bands (repeating previous mentions because
) Explosions in the Sky have some good music but a lot of it is repetitive and generic. From what I've seen people generally like their first album. Helios is also good but I'm not sure if his music is post rock. You probably already know them but Sigur Ros are one of the biggest names in post rock and while most of their music has vocals, they have lots of good instrumental music as well. Not as well known is Riceboy Sleeps, a mostly instrumental ambient/post rock album by Jonsi and his boyfriend. http://locirecords.bandcamp.com/track/minor-cause This is good too but I'm not sure if you are looking for electronic musicians. Edit: I don't know much about noise music but if you mean more in the vein of drone music there is obviously Sunn O)) (I only like some of their music if I'm in the right mood but it might be what you're looking for. ) as well as Black Swan. http://blackswan.bandcamp.com/album/heaven-2012 Last edited by slipknot5678 : 01-16-2013 at 08:18 PM. |

I don't really like Explosions in the Sky but I thought he might. ![]() Out of what I listed Mono is my least favourite but I don't know if I'd consider them dead boring. It's been a while since I've listened to them though. show

Yeah that was a bit of an exaggeration. 99% of the time though, I'd much rather listen to Godspeed than Mono or EITS. I think some of you guys might like Maybeshewill: show

Check out *shels. They're a progressive/post-metal band. They do have some vocals, but a lot of their music, at least their Sea of a Dying Dhow album, is largely instrumental.

a few of their tracks have vocals, but 95% of their stuff is instrumental.
