Yeah but there's no point in him saving for the tube 60 when in the other thread we concluded he didn't want to save up, and wanted to buy now.
Otherwise we were telling him to go for a 6505+ combo.

If it makes you feel better about saving, it's been noted elsewhere that the tube 60 power amp IS a 6505 power amp...(I have not personally looked at the schematics, but it makes sense.)

I have compared the schematics - same power amp. The differences aren't worth talking about.

I knew you had, and trust your comparison, I just didn't want to be making false personal claims. Now go to sleep, old man!

That is the smart choice. The tubed Vypyrs are better imo and worth the extra cost. Much more warmer and organic. So you are looking for Zep and Blink plus metal stuff that a 6505+ would work for? If that is the case then give the Vypyr 60 a good hard look. It does not nail the 6505+ tone exactly but does a fair job. Where the amp really excels imo is the Diezel and Dual Rec settings. That combined with the Krank, JSX, XXX give you a lot of metal tones plus the Twin and Plexi are nice to have too.
