I just bought a Pod HD500.

For $160, works perfectly. I love it. Any tricks? How do I record with it? Is the USB good enough or should I use the XLR cables or whatever?

Read the manual.

Use the settings thread for settings.

USB is fine.

Only thing you need to remember, which the manuals don't tell you, is that all the tones in it are dialed in with both more extreme bass and extreme treble than the thing they're meant to sound like. So, to get 'accurate' tones, you need to get used to setting the mids higher and the treble (and sometimes the bass) lower than you would on a 'real' amp.

Is there a difference between recording with XLR + firewire vs USB? I notice I have latency issue when using the USB, and I heard a XLR + firewire setup doesn't have this problem.
