Ty Segall

wtf UG, there's no Ty Segall thread anywhere on this site so I made one.

What's your favorite album from him? I love Slaughterhouse, and find everything else I've heard from him to be just okay.

Slaughterhouse is my favorite from him, Goodbye Bread is really dope too. I haven't listened to too much of his other stuff. I listened to some of that singles album he released or w/e but I don't remember enjoying that too much.

C'mon, y'all. His s/t is far and away his best. Melted is next in line. Singles collection is also sort of essential and nothing from this year is. Coulda had one great album from it all.

I'll be sure to 'cop' that. Jay Reatard's singles collections are some of his best work, so I have high expectations.

i listened to the self-titled once, it sounded like the singles collection except w/ weaker songs. and i do not think the singles are very strong either. different strokes.

Ty Segall doesn't describe his music as punk though. It's "rock"

you probably don't describe yourself as a fag either.

i kinda like ty segall, but never got into him because his discography got to big and that turned me off. tell me three albums to get (and rank them please).

i listened to self-titled first (i don't remember why--perhaps because it was the only one where everything was already tagged correctly) and was impressed.

Ty has a new band with Charlie Moothart (who plays guitar with the band live and on Slaughterhouse) where Ty's on drums and vocals and it's pretty awesome

The first half of Melted is my favorite material he has. Slaughterhouse, his self titled, and especially Goodbye Bread are all very good albums too. This is a bit of an abstract, but does anybody else get a Beck vibe from him? Not necessarily musically, just over all kind of

The music sounds to me like it came straight from early '90s Seattle.

Too much melody and guitar soloing for punk music.
