Help with delay settings
Hey guys
,So i've been playing for awhile now and I got a delay pedal not too long ago and have been attempting to learn "With or without you" by U2, I'm having problems with getting the right settings for my pedal though, it's a Boss DD-3, if anyone could tell me what they are or how close I can get it, it would be greatly appreciated. |

This forum might be a little more helpful for you. That pedal might not be quite what you need to mimic Edge's. However, if it has a tap tempo function and a more ambient setting, I'm sure you can get by. Really though, you should save up 300 bucks, sell that, and get one of these ![]() http://www.strymon.net/products/elcapistan/

Hmmm, the thing about the The Edge is most of his delay times are set perfectly with the song tempo which can be very difficult to do without tap tempo. but listening to that particular song, it doesn't seem to be as crucial.
Never had a DD3, but I've had similar things. I'd try the medium mode, "M.200ms" on the pedal. Have delay time and feed back right about noon. Then you can pretty easily set the delay volume how what seems right. I'm not sure if the knob is a 1:1 wet:dry at full or at noon, or whatever. I assume you were going for those rhythm parts. That lead ebow-sounding thing (although I doubt that's what he actually used) would have a longer feedback and the delay volume should be about as high as you can get it (maybe even all wet). Play with it! That's the fun of effects, you get to explore, tweak and discover new sounds. ![]()
