Need some help with my sound
I have a strange problem, I have a Laney LG12, 12 watt amp. My guitar is a Cort kx5 which is just over a year old, and the electro harmonix micro metal muff distortion pedal.
an example of the pedal in action. recently I have noticed that when I use the overdrive on my amp, or the distortion pedal and I play a note, I hear the note just fine, but there is a second note underneath it, which should not be there at all, and it can sound pretty terrible at times, anyone have any idea why this might be? Also, it is only noticeable when the overdrive/distortion is up over about half way, and the sound is fine when it's clean. I read somewhere that it could be the tension in the long bar in the neck needs adjusting, but I don't exactly want to go doing anything rash and break it do I! |

How is the action on your guitar?

The action isn't too low, nor too high, it's pretty middling. I have tried it at different heights, but I had the problem before then. Besides, I have heard the string buzzing on the fretboard before and it's not that, it's more as if I am playing two discordant notes, when I am only playing one note, on one string.
also, it is most noticeable on the higher few strings, if that helps at all. |
