Guitar straps

I'm struggling to get the length I want on my guitar strap i like to have it just below my waist line and maybe a bit lower depending on how i'm feeling, but i'm tall so most guitar straps only get to just above my waste line, which is very annoying for me, so does anyone know how "long" a strap would have to be to let my bass hang where I want it to, or any links to any products so to cut out the process of searching, any help is much appreciated.

Get a good leather strap, and then go find a horse tackle place and have them make the adjustable part, just longer. Should cost maybe $45+ the strap.

I had a bassist that had to do that, dude was like 6'6" or something like that, he had the same complaint.

(If you are into motorcycles, they are also the best place to have your leather crap worked on as well).

I'm in the same boat as you. If you want a cheap one, I found the Ernie Ball straps to be extremely long. I'm 6'2 and I can get a guitar to my knees with them.

Hey man, I know how you feel, I'm 6'6 at age 17 haha, I have a Fender strap which i've owned for around 4 or 5 years, which is more than long enough. I recently got a strap with a pantera patch in it from ebay which has no make it was just under "Pantera Guitar Strap" And again that's more than long enough

Planet Waves make a great leather strap. I'm just over 6' and its wide enough to not chafe or put too much pressure on your shoulder with heavy guitars, and its quite cheap, around 10.

The dimarzio clip lock straps are stupidly long. 6'2 and it will drop to below my knees

I use the standard Dunlop straps, I'm 6' even and Iv got it at my waste with probably 6 inches of extra length.

Edit: these guys http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acce...id-guitar-strap. I had the same strap but with a bunch of grommets in it, but that wasn't nearly as good.

they aren't real cheap, but they are nice i have three and they are the only strap long enough from me. i just got the thrid for christmas, i literally had to say over 84" and when my dad went there he brought a tape measure and it was the only strap that would do it at GC.

I've had the one on my Jaguar for 4 years and it still holds very well, though the ends did indeed loosening. It isn't the best quality, but for the price, I am satisfied with it.

i personally wouldn't use it, its not worth dropping nice guitar over. buy another for $7, four years isn't bad for a strap

i should mention most of my guitars have straplocks, so when i install them i use the temp loctite and stitch the hole all the way tight with a needle and fishing line. i don't think that would fail.
