That was my initial thought as well, but the scientific definition of temperature involves more than just the movement of atoms in a given object. If you read the article it makes sense, if you just read the excerpts in the OP and the headline you'll be mindfucked.

But I understand your sentiment. I feel if we were alive 200 more years from now, and the world hasn't gone to utter shit, the advances in knowledge and the change in scientific theory norms would be astounding.
