Getting started singing in a band...
What do I need? Is it appropriate for a singer to go to a practice with no mics or amps?
If I do need to be amped, what is the lowest costing equipment I need before we can have a legit practice? It would be a rock band, modeled after some popular 80's bands. ![]()

You will definitely need to use a mic & sing through a PA. There's no way you can have a legit practice without this.
If you don't have the kit, does anyone else in your band, or does the place you'll be practicing have the kit you can use?

Suggested minimum: Mic (AKG D5 is good and "cheap", don't go cheaper than this!, must have a hyper-cardoid or super-cardoid pick-up pattern), stand, lead, self powered monitor with Mic input (or a self powered PA speaker that can be used as such). Last edited by PSimonR : 01-06-2013 at 10:00 AM. |
