Is that a question, a statement or sarcasm?

What's the mod, Izzy?

You lengthen the bridge posts so they go further into the body. It brightens the guitar, makes it much more resonant and more sustain. I've read really great things about it.

Nobody thinks that it could stand for black beauty? I mean, LPCs can be pretty damn heavy right?

Also, my LP needs a nice cleaning. I better get to work.

I thought that, but then wouldn't that be BB instead?

Historic Reissues
R2 = reissue of the 1952 Gibson Les Paul
R9 = reissue of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul
CR8 = chambered reissue of the '58 Gibson Les Paul
There is no R3 or R5.

Historic Customs are often referred to as B4, B7, R4BB or R7BB. BB meaning Black Beauty.

Found this on MLP, so it looks like B refers to the 54s etc... BB is probably only used on 3 pickup models.

Somehow missed this post. The rings are just the right shade when compared to the original.

And I like the pickguard. Plus I paid for a vintage correct one. Not gonna waste that $60 and just leave it off.

EDIT: Somehow my iPhone 5's camera can capture the colors better than my DSLR.

They look absolutely fine.

Nice LP man.

If I took the pickguard off I'd look for scratches after every play. I'm way too anal about my LP. The head lightly touched something and gave the tiniest little mark on the corner the other day and I shit myself. It's pathetic.

I need to get the dings out of the way, have a cry and move on.

I'm watching that Cameron Crowe film 'Say Anything' and John Cusack is in the guitar shop just walking around with what I think is a 61 Gibson Les Paul/SG.

I mean, he's just a kid, with a Clash t shirt on and he's walking around with this mint, mega expensive guitar with no supervision.

Blasphemy.

You'd hate me then, considering I was a kid in a guitar shop with a megadeth t-shirt who plugged a 61 LP into a cranked dual rectumfrier.

The.... feedback

No, I love the Clash. What I mean is, the store owners are irresponsible in letting that hoodlum run around with that guitar.

We all know you were just there to just rock the store to its rubble!

Yeah, that's some major questionable judgement there.

I came close. People across the street inside a Starbucks could even hear me. You could probably hear that amp for a block or so!

The local stores in my area are the exact opposite, where when you try to take ANY guitar down off the wall, they are right there to follow you around trying to sell you stuff and staring at you with the evil eye for daring to touch their precious merch.

I remember the first time I tried a Gibson SG in a store. The clerk came to me and said "Are you out of your mind? This is a Gibson. Go play with toys for kids your age."
I was 16.

I was 14 when I played my first Historic. Sales guy at GC just got it down for us and insisted we try it. They used to have some really cool people at the north Austin location. Twas a shame the neck pickup was dead on that first Historic.

^ Same at GC when I was 14. The sales guy was pimping the R7 when I wanted a Standard SG.

when i was at the store i handed them to everybody.

one of the "kids" actually saved his money up and bought a '61 vos with maestro.

because someone handed it to him.
