It's strange, I barely put them on anymore but whenever I put up any Pearl Jam album it steel feels like magic to me. They've been my favourites for like 6 or 7 years already and even though I listen to a lot of different stuff they're still my favourites.

I do. Foo Fighters ma nigga. I have three actually that have been my favorite constantly; Foo Fighters, Local H, and Everclear. They've really been the only constants for my taste in music.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't really have any band I consider a favorite, I just listen to something I'm in the mood for.

Metallica. Favorite band since I was a wee lad in 7th grade. There's periods where I won't listen to them for months but I always come back.

Currently probably M83. But it changes every month or so, so I guess not.

I've been a big Radiohead fan since I started listening to music but I don't listen to them all that much these days. To busy enjoying new stuff.

BTBAM and Periphery have been my favorite bands for the last few years. I feel like I've known BTBAM forever. Periphery was a kick in the balls when I first heard them and they've stuck. A close third would be between The Contortionist, The Human Abstract, and Protest the hero. That would be my top five bands of the last decade.

Its all been downhill since Jon left.

And then they let a white guy join the band.

The worst part of getting older though? I kinda like Styx now. I've been singing Come Sail Away for a week now.

You think that's bad? I found myself voluntarily listening to people like Katie Melua and Norah Jones recently. I think I'm turning into my mother.

I also watched an audience with Rod Stewart on the TV over the Christmas break.

I'm so ashamed.....

I was looking at a Salvador Dali painting the other day and I said to myself... My god this is a stupid painting. That guy needs to grow up.

Bands that always have me coming back, even after long stretches of not listening to them are LoG and Metallica. I don't know why.
There are loads of technically and conceptionally better bands.
Loads of bands with catchier tunes.
Loads of bands with superior song writing.
Loads of bands with better singing/lyrics.
Loads of heavier bands........but I always come back to these two. And when I do, it's always like a breath of fresh, satisfying air.

I just don't know why

In the past I've had favourites, not so much now. I do have bands I can listen to in any mood and enjoy and consistently come back to, like The Books, Modest Mouse, Smashing Pumpkins, Gorillaz. Then I have artists I'm really into at the present, but it's a fleeting love. Right now, it's Tom Waits, specifically The Black Rider. Great album.
