You can get a used Septor Elite 7 string for something close to that. I sold mine over a year ago for $600 and it came with a fixed bridge, was neck-through and had some Blackout 7's

If you looked for the pro versions, you could definitely reach that price level. Another option would be a bolt on Schecter

Am I misreading or did OP say $500 OR LESS

On topic: Agile or an Ibanez RG7321. I'm digging my Ibanez RGD7421, it comes with a longer scale length and it's like $550 new...

If you don't like stock Ibanez, used 7321 should be relatively inexpensive and a nice set of DiMaarzios should fall in with what you have left.

If you're playing stuff like that, why not get a six string and tune to an uber br00tz tuning?

OT: used Ibanez of some-sort.

about agile, what do you think about the agile interceptor pro 727? and is it true that that agile guitars need alot of fretwork because the frets are not leveled correctly?

agiles are hit and miss but the return policy is great. the interceptor Is basically a septor with a floyd rose.

I don't want to sound like one of those "Agile" guys, but the Agile I owned was probably the best guitar I've ever played out of the box. Intonation, fretwork and action were all practically perfect. Kurt is a great guy and he holds customer satisfaction very high on his list.

It's also the only guitar I experienced seller's remorse with, and I've owned many different guitars.

There's been rumours floating around about them for a while now, a few prototypes have been circulated apparently.

You can't get a good guitar of any description for $500 or less. Conversely, you'd have a hard time finding an inadequate guitar for sale at any store, new or used.

Just buy whatever (unbroken) 7-string you can find, run it through a distortion unit, and it'll sound like a $2000 guitar run through the same distortion unit.

Lots of solid recommendations. Also, check out the MIJ Ibanez RG series (7620, 7621, 7420, 7421, 7420XL, etc,) and MIJ and MIK S series.

If you're patient and have a few more $$$, you can snag a very nice LTD SC607B. It feels very close to the more expensive STEF B7.

You can also score a used but nice Jackson COW and LTD MH and H series.
