I ask not because I care about your interests. well maybe I do a little but I have to fill out this application and one of the questions is

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS?

and I would like to get an idea of what people say when they are faced with this question because I have no idea how much detail to put, whether people include "generic" interests like eating or reading or going out, because I wrote paragraphs of stuff about myself and I really don't need that much.

and okay I guess I do care about your interests because the pit is full of interesting people. please don't let me down

Is it, like, a short question at the end of your application, or something more towards the beginning? If it's at the end, then it's just stuff you enjoy doing. If it's at the beginning, it'll probably be used to decide what area you'll be working in and what position they'll put you in. At least that's what I'd assume, given that I don't know what kind of application this is.

Put down interests that are relevant to the job. If it's in retail selling clothes, say you're interest in fashion. If it's at a fast food place or even a supermarket, say you're interested in cooking. You can lie all you want about what your interests are, because you don't have to be knowledgeable to have interest.

oh right I probably should've said what it was for. It's an application to be part of my uni's exchange student buddy program, so this is pretty much the most important part. I mean, I kinda have this down but I don't want to be too general or too specific because it'll make the pairing up more difficult.

the next question though -_- "Activities you plan to do with your buddy"
I don't know, it's up to them isn't it?

psychology as well as

You forgot to mention your fondness for the return key.

"Show them the sights" is a pretty standard generic answer. I don't think they're looking for anything specific, they just want to know that you're a decent person and tolerant person with diverse interests.

Nah, but I do love kitties. I, as do most people on this site, hold Music as my primary interest. I play primarily Guitar, I've dabbled with the Piano, and am currently trying to develop my skills at Violin. Genres I like to listen to are different forms of Metal, Rock, lately a lot of Screamo, and Classical Music as well as multiple other types of Music.

Another interest of mine, or at least what I'd deem as an interest, would be reading. I'm trying to get more into it and have started on S.J. Parris' Heresy series. I'm really getting into the whole Elizabethan-era mystery theme it has and I hope to find more books like them(If anyone has rec's I'd be very happy).

I plan on watching more movies since I bought The Big Lebowski Deluxe Edition on blu-ray. I also play quite a few games and I just beat the entire God Of War, and I am about to beat Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening as well.

Is that enough information for ya'?
