Help me ID this guitar
I'm going to try and fix the guitar tomorrow, just need help identifying this guitar now
Two basic questions here. #1. My guitar has started cutting in and out, and I'm assuming it's the pickup switch, as it's always crackled a fair bit when switching pups. It's a 5 way switch (HSS), is there anything I need to check before ordering a new one? Are they all pretty much the same quality/size etc? #2. The guitar is a 6 string Fernandes, and I do not know which model it is. I bought it second hand (plays great, sounds pretty killer IMHO). The only thing I know about it is the volume/tone knob where changed. I'll have pics up in a minute or two.

Have you checked that it might be something else causing the problem first?

Forgive my noobiness. I've always just played guitar, and adjusted them. Never really dealt with the electronic side of it. I'm assuming it's the switch based on it always crackled whilst changing pups, and now it's actually cutting out as you switch, and if you bump it whilst on any pick up, it stops for half a sec. I don't have the problem with my other guitars on the same rig btw.

If your guitar is cutting out, is most likely a bad selector switch (very common) or your output jack needs a tweak. Pickups usually don't "break," as they just sit there and there isn't much on or in them to break. Check the switch, then the jack, and if necessary, check the wires connecting the pickups to the pots and to the switch.

All the wiring is tight and secure, including the jack.

What fatalgear said basically.
Jacks and switches tend to go bad with time and use. Just check to make sure all your connections are good and give the contacts a good blow of air. Dust tends to get between the contacts. Edit: In that case, it could be that the switch is a bit dirty, see if blowing air onto the contacts or (if you have it) spray them with contact cleaner (brake cleaner is the best because it leaves nothing behind when it evaporates).

That's probably unnecessary. Just give the switch a good clean and that'll probably fix it.
