I thought "superstrat" meant mainly the shape.
EDIT: Lol, after reading the last page I realized this argument already happened, and that this thread is going down-hill pretty fast. Quote:

Does my SSS Charvel count because it's a Charvel.
I was thinking SuperStrat only took shape into consideration. Since there's no definition regarding trems, etc. LP only makes threads like this and posts like this so that he can force feed his opinion down every other person's throat. That's what I see him do anyways.

Thanks for posting the definition and very interesting article, Way Cool! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superstrat "Superstrat (sometimes spelled as sooper strat or super-strat) is a name for an electric guitar design that resembles a Fender Stratocaster but with differences that clearly distinguish it from a standard Stratocaster, usually to cater to a different playing style. Differences typically (but not necessarily) include more pointed, aggressive-looking body and neck shapes, different tonewoods, increased number of frets, usage of humbucking pickups and Floyd Rose tremolo systems.[1][2][3]"

And EVH's FrankenStrat was the first SuperStrat, the proto-type SuperStrat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankenstrat Overview of the Frankenstrat The Frankenstrat represented Van Halen's attempt to combine the sound of a classic Gibson guitar with the physical attributes of a Fender.... It is a six-string guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo.

Nothing wrong with an educated discussion. It is those that resort to juvenile insults that ruin intelligent discussions on these forums. All you and I did, Way Cool, was post good information, there was no reason for others to go berserk and start flaming childish insults.

Super Strat? Is it worth $150? I've been looking at getting a guitar with a FR for a while, and this is pretty cheap and I can get it nect week

Or those too stupid to read posts or answer questions and contribute to a discussion any further than using cut and paste quotes from wiki that they clearly haven't read, clutter up threads full of people who are willing to talk about hear and who have forgotten more about guitars and gear than you will ever know, to then bitch and wonder why the regulars here get annoyed. All you do is turn up and make stupid comments or try to force you uninformed, ******ed half formed fetuses of opinions down people throats. So either grow up, think about you are going to post or discuss. Do some research and actually contribute to this forum or **** off.

Most of the "regulars" here are morons and attack peoples opinions and then get the ret of the mods to gang up on people. And usually it happens to posters that have valid points.
I think most of the "regulars'" opinions suck and that's why I joined in the first place. There is good advice floating around here but it mainly comes from non-moderators.

So show me where I ignored his point, or just jumped on his opinions. I think most would agree considering my manners on here, I like being corrected and learning new things.

Ad hominem insults are indicative of a weak juvenile who cannot articulate his opinion and gets mad when an alternative opinion is expressed. Since the juvenile is incapable of expressing himself intelligently, he resorts to insults which are a violation of forum rules.
